SMALL BLOCK CHEVY

Jerry is a hot rodder  who likes to do as much of his own work as possible.  He is using a SHOPTASK 17-20XMTC model he bought from us in 1996.  Even though this machine does not have all the new features of the TRI POWER he is doing some heavy duty jobs.

This was a job that shocked his local machinist- that's a 350 Chevy crank being held in the lathe and Jerry is using his home- built polisher to get his journals to exact size.  The new TRI POWER machine has 10" more length to make  even larger projects possible.

Here's another shocker for the local machine shop.  Jerry milled a special jig to hold his 350 heads at the proper angle ( left) and then he mills off the rocker bosses and installs thread-in studs. The mill table on the new TRI POWER machine is 50% larger than the old one to make this kind of work even easier.

Wow!  Take a piece of 1" thick steel plate and burn it out to a sort of round shape, chuck it up in the lathe and soon you have a flywheel for a small block Chevy.  We challenge any other 3 in 1 company to try this on one of those old 1980's designs.
