LATHE SPINDLE INDEXER

Over the years we have built all our prototypes ourselves with our own machines.  As part of this process we have had lots of occasions to make special dials and other parts with bolt circles.  We used a rotary table for these jobs, but one of our customers offered us an idea on how it could be done with an indexer.  This customer builds a lot of custom flywheels and wanted to layout his holes after the turning was done.  With the indexer, you can use the lathe tool to scribe one or more circles of the desired diameters and then index the rotation and use your cross slide and cutting tool to scribe the cross lines every so many degrees.  Its a great feature that can let you do a lot of jobs with the machine that would otherwise require the more expensive rotary table option. The indexer has a spring loaded pin that fits into holes to lock the spindle into place at 10 degree increments.  The pin is also mounted on a swing-away bracket so that it does not get in the way of your regular work.  Naturally, we are the only company with this valuable feature.
