GUNSMITH WORK
We always received a lot of inquiries from gunsmiths, but the
old 1980's style machines simply did not have the features or the
rigidity necessary for this type of precision work. However, once
we introduced the 17-20 XMTC model it gave the home gunsmith a real
viable machine. Our new TRI POWER machine is another huge step
forward with its 3 axes power feed and long center distances.

This customer bought a machine
from us in 1996 to use in his competitive target shooting. His
first project was a press for his custom loads. Unlike off-the
shelf presses, which are just a lever arm, he built his press with an
eccentric which maintains even pressure through its entire
stroke. He claims this gives a more even distribution of the load
for a more controlled burn.

Another project from this same owner is this rifle stand for use in
adjusting sights.

This gunsmith bought a machine
from us in 1993. His innovative methods of doing work on his .50
caliber target rifle surprised even us. Not only did he do some
amazing work that even we thought could not be done on this machine,
but he then wrote a book on the subject. The book has so many
insights into rifle rebarreling that we now offer it as part of our
library- see
ST39 Volume 13.
