SHOPMASTER PATRIOT

Over the past 25 years, we have had many customers who commented that they loved our design, but wanted to buy something made in USA. Unfortunately, there never was a machine like ours made in USA, and we made a lot of investigation into the possibility of building it here, but the cost was simply far too high.  About 10 years ago we hit upon the idea to take one of our standard machines and totally re-build it to our own higher standards.  We called the machine the PATRIOT. We took our own shop machine and stripped it down to its bare components and then powder coated all the sheet metal parts.  We replaced all the fasteners with stainless steel and all the bearings with high grade Timkens.  All the gears were shot blasted and shafts polished to remove that microscopic    " fuzz" associated with newly made parts.  The machine was then carefully re-assembled with critical measurements made at each step.  The result was a sight to see.  It was beautiful to look at and a joy to watch as it ran. The turbine whine of the motors, that precision click of a finely oiled firearm and the high tech whine of the CNC drives made you just want to stand and listen to it run.  Because of the amount of labor and materials put into this machine the cost was considerably higher than a standard unit, but we wanted to see if there truly was a market.  We sent out selected flyers to individuals, schools and companies and the result was quie surprising.  The response was good, but it seemed that the only serious interest came from large FOREIGN companies.  In those days, it seemed that only foreigners still believed in USA products.  We built a number of machines for these clients, but eventually we put the whole project on hold.

Now, 10 years later the market has changed radically.  The internet and E-Bay have opened up the entire world market to people who could never imagine selling their products anywhere but in their local area.  People are making and selling products in their homes and marketing them worldwide.  The cost of building the machine in USA has remained prohibitive, but we have found a solution.  We have contracted with a factory in China with ISO 9001 certification.  This factory builds high quality CNC production machines used in the aero space industry worldwide.  After several years of negotiations and testing of samples, we are now ready to introduce the NEW  SHOPMASTER PATRIOT to the market place.  In addition to the new color scheme, we have made a number of changes to the basic design to improve its function and longevity.
